(aka Trust the Science?)

Did the Great Collider really open
A Stargate to another dimension?
Will researchers dine off stories
‘Til they receive their pension?
Was the unknown entity merely
Having an inter-dimensional laugh
When it joined them at their table
Then made off with a scarf?

Are ‘chemtrails’ real (as some insist?)
Are air-borne nano-particles an issue
If they float-down to make us sneeze
But can’t be blown into a tissue?
Are leaking cans of toxic waste
Dumped for decades in the deepest sea
A threat to those aboard the Clapham ‘bus
Plain, simple folks like you and me?

Do those in Lab-coats daily meddling
With microbes far too small to see
To make them much more dangerous
Than they might ever hope to be
Simply suffer from a grand conceit?
Or have a moral compass that is ‘busted’?
Whatever answers you prefer
It seems, Scientists can’t be trusted!
