Thoughtless gods
We humans are so good at proudly inventing
Things that might well kill us all
For our intelligence exceeds our wisdom
And we forget ‘pride comes before a fall’
In creating that which we have glibly named AI
Humanity is acting like a thoughtless god
Turning-tables it may be the child that spoils us
Or else it simply may not spare the rod!
In years ahead, if some of us survive
We may well come to rue our relegation
To the second most intelligent species
On a planet ruled by an immortal, cyborg nation!
Then again, the remaining, fortunate few
May flourish in a new wrought, equitable Eden
Without their narcissistic human leaders
They may finally be grateful for their freedom!
