some think this, others that: it is the foundation of human individuality, but also of division… and yet no one truly knows who if anyone is right and who wrong… except in some obvious cases 🙂

Some of all things…

Some people speak of karma
And some believe in fate
There are those who think you face your sins
When you stand at Heaven’s gate

Some expect that there is Purgatory
Or there’s just an endless void
There are those who have lost count of
The ideas with which they’ve toyed

Some, seeking for their purpose,
Say a Designer made the Plan
Others ever look for meaning
While some do what they can

Some still think a bearded giant
Sits on a cloud-based throne
Some say there can be no such thing
Thanks to horrors they have known

Some see the sun set every day
And watch it as it rises
They live in awe of simple things
But for some there’s no surprises

Some people choose to trust the Science
As they’ve been exhorted to
Some think that the Earth is flat
(Ignorance is nothing new)

There are those who pray five-times-a-day
While others never pray
Some of them finally turn to God
As their life-force slips away

Some think it best to serve themselves
Taking what they want from others
But some know the way to save Mankind
Is to love all Men as brothers

Some yet think there are many gods
Some claim there’s demons too
Eight billion souls on one small rock
But no one knows what’s true

So, some live their lives and never think
Indulging in distractions
Gambling, sex and drugs or drink
Are their preferred infractions

Hence, some already live in Hell
For some it comes hereafter
The cries of those whose lives are dire
Drowned-out by other’s laughter

Some say we should live for today
Always being ‘in the moment’
But those whose days are full of dread
Hope tomorrow won’t bring torment

Quite what the ‘Truth’ is none can say
Though each has their own idea
Some have faith or boundless hope
But some are ruled by fear!
