Enlightenment
Across the Peninsula
Darkness descended
All were disempowered
And life was upended
Sticky jams on the roads
Stopping trains, grounding planes
Shops could not take cards
And so chaos reigns
Unplugged from the ‘Net
Small-screen junkies despair
Without scrolling or googling
They tear-out-their-hair
In-the-dark for a day
The light surely dawned
Just how fragile is this
Electric-world we have spawned
But how could this happen?
Might it be a portent?
Could some hours of darkness
Bring enlightenment?
